About Me
Through my volunteer experiences and working with those less fortunate at local homeless shelters, I can appreciate the immeasurable impact that education has on the lives of young people. Education is both empowering and enriching. I believe that education can help to promote tolerance of others as well as to enhance our understanding of global issues. It is the aforementioned reasons that I hope to inspire our youth to not only embrace their education, but to become their best selves. My teaching style is holistic and includes a combination of teacher centered instruction coupled with inquiry based learning activities. My leadership style focuses on collaboration, efficiency and compassion.
Global Connection
As a forward thinking educator, I'm committed to empowering high school students to become global citizens. I do this by engaging them in external international challenges that span science, finance, tech, and sustainability.
Through these challenges, students gain real-world problem-solving skills, develop global perspectives, and collaborate with peers from around the world.
I'm passionate about fostering global citizenship and believe these challenges are an essential part of a well-rounded education.
STEAM Connection
As an educator passionate about STEAM education, I'm thrilled to lead our H2GP hydrogen car race series, an innovative program that engages high school students in a hands-on, and engaging learning experience.
Through this program, students from all backgrounds and perspectives collaborate to design, build, and race hydrogen-powered remote control cars, applying their skills in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM).
In addition to developing STEAM skills, students also gain valuable experience in teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking. They learn to embrace diversity and appreciate the power of collaboration in achieving common goals.
Experiential Connection
Throughout my years of engagement with the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, I've witnessed firsthand its transformative power in shaping young lives. The program's immersive, experiential approach fosters self-belief, resilience, and a deep sense of purpose.
I'm particularly proud of the program's ability to bridge cultural divides and create opportunities for young people from diverse backgrounds to collaborate and grow together. By equipping participants with teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills, the DofE empowers them to become changemakers and make a positive impact on their communities.
Outdoor Connection
I firmly believe that Week Without Walls (WWW) programs offer a unique and invaluable opportunity for high school students to embark on transformative learning journeys that extend beyond the confines of traditional classrooms. By venturing into the natural world, students are immersed in a hands-on, experiential learning environment that fosters personal growth, cultivates a sense of community, and nurtures a lifelong appreciation for the environment.
WWW programs provide a platform for students to connect with nature, engage with diverse perspectives, and develop essential life skills. Through outdoor activities, service projects, and community engagement initiatives, students gain a deeper understanding of their place in the world and the importance of collaboration, resilience, and social responsibility.
